Stride Toward Freedom
King, Martin Luther Jr.
Signed first edition of Dr. King's first book.
Bold and beautiful signature with "Best Wishes" and a small stamp from the Tulsa Council of Churches on front free endpaper. Envelope pocket on front pastedown. Dustjacket is overall bright with chips and sunfading on the spine. Tipped in the back of the book is the program for the July 28th, 1960 Freedom Rally in Tulsa. Dr. King was the keynote speaker. Also mentions Rev. McCrutcheon of the Mt. Zion Baptsist Church and James Goodwin of the Oklahoma Eagle as speakers at the rally. First and only piece we've ever seen documenting the Civil Rights Movement in Tulsa and Oklahoma.
One of a kind.
